President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a decree on the dismissal of Serhiy Kyslytsya from the position of Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the UN. The decision was formalized by the relevant decree.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy dismissed Serhiy Kyslytsya from the position of Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the United Nations. This is reported by UNN with reference to Decree No. 870/2024 dated December 21.

Details

"To dismiss Serhiy Olehovych Kyslytsya from the position of Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the United Nations, as well as from the positions of Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Ukraine to the Commonwealth of The Bahamas and Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago concurrently", - the decree states.

In addition, a decree was signed to cancel the Decree of the President of Ukraine dated February 22, 2024 No. 87/2024 "On the appointment of E. Dzhapparova as the Permanent Representative of Ukraine to international organizations in Vienna".

Background

Serhiy Kyslytsya has been the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador, Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the UN since February 2020. Since November 2022, he has been the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Ukraine to the Commonwealth of The Bahamas (concurrently). Since October 2021, he has been the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago (concurrently). 2014 - 2020 - Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
