A year as Prosecutor General: Kravchenko published results in key areas

Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko reports on a year of work: 258 cases of war crimes sent to court, 97 defendants found guilty. Also, damages in the defense sector amounting to over UAH 3.4 billion were established.
Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko summed up the results in the main areas of work during his year in office, writes UNN.
"A year as Prosecutor General. For some, it is a lot, for others – little. It can be assessed in different ways. For me, it is not enough," Kravchenko wrote.
Key results:
- The Prosecutor General's Office sent 258 criminal cases related to war crimes in Ukraine to court over the year, with 97 defendants already found guilty. According to the Prosecutor General, from June 2025 to June 2026, 72,295 criminal proceedings were registered and are being investigated in connection with Russian aggression in Ukraine. Of these, 68,900 cases were opened under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (war crimes);
- In the defense sector, damages amounting to over UAH 3.4 billion were established, and 849 individuals received suspicions and will face trial;
- Courts issued 81 verdicts in crimes against children, 18 of which were life imprisonment;
- In the area of combating crimes in the budget sphere, over 2,000 indictments were sent to court during the year, with the total amount of established damages being UAH 14 billion;
- In the field of environmental protection, 32.5 thousand hectares of land that had been illegally alienated were returned;
- an audit of proceedings regarding businesses was conducted: out of 26,818 proceedings, 9,716 were closed.
Also, during this year, the PGO transferred funds and property worth UAH 1.3 billion to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Ruslan Kravchenko was officially appointed to the position of Prosecutor General of Ukraine on June 21, 2025. His candidacy was supported by the Verkhovna Rada with 273 votes on June 17, 2025, after which the President signed the corresponding decree.
