New details have emerged regarding the assassination attempt on US President Donald Trump at the Washington Hilton hotel. They were published by Sky News, reports UNN.

The shooter was identified as 31-year-old Cole Thomas Allen from Torrance, California. According to preliminary data, he may have been a guest at the hotel.
Journalists analyzed the man's profile on the social network LinkedIn.
In his profile, he stated that he has an education as a mechanical engineer and a software specialist, and also worked for some time as an independent video game developer and teacher.
In 2017, Cole Thomas Allen earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena. He later received a master's degree in computer science from California State University, Dominguez Hills.
For the past six years, the suspect worked at C2 Education, a company specializing in preparing applicants for admissions and testing.
In addition, the shooter wrote in his personal profile about developing a video game for the Steam platform based on molecular chemistry.
Also, under his name, a post was published about working on a new top-down shooter game set in outer space.

The suspect is expected to be brought to federal court as early as Monday.

According to available information, the shots targeting the American leader rang out around 8:30 PM local time (1:30 AM GMT). At that moment, Trump, along with First Lady Melania Trump, was in the hall socializing when the situation was suddenly interrupted by a commotion.
According to law enforcement, the attacker was armed with a shotgun, a pistol, and several knives. He opened fire near the entrance to the ballroom. One police officer was struck, but was saved by a bulletproof vest.
The perpetrator was promptly detained.
