June 21 marks the summer solstice - the longest day of the year. Also celebrated are Father's Day, International Yoga Day, and the Feast of Music.

This Sunday marks one of the most important natural phenomena — the summer solstice, which brings the longest daylight day of the year. In addition, Ukrainians and the world celebrate a number of significant events: the traditional Father's Day, the global Music Day, and the UN-backed International Day of Yoga, reports UNN.
Summer Solstice
This is the longest daylight day and the shortest night of the year for the Northern Hemisphere. The Sun reaches its highest point in the sky. From an astronomical perspective, this day marks the beginning of true astronomical summer.
Father's Day
In Ukraine and many other countries around the world, this holiday is traditionally celebrated on the third Sunday of June, which in 2026 falls on the 21st. It is a day of respect for the role of the father in the family and society, a great opportunity to thank fathers for their support, protection, and love.
International Day of Yoga
An official UN holiday. The date of June 21 (the summer solstice) was proposed by the Prime Minister of India, as it holds special significance in many parts of the world. The day aims to promote yoga as a means for physical and mental health.
Music Day (Fête de la Musique / World Music Day)
Originating in France in 1982, this holiday has become global. Traditionally on June 21, musicians (both professionals and amateurs) take to the streets, parks, and squares of their cities to play completely free of charge, filling the world with live sound.
World Humanist Day
A holiday for all who share the ideas of humanism — a philosophy that centers on the value of human life, reason, the scientific approach, and individual freedom without attachment to religious dogma.
World Hydrography Day
Established with UN support to raise awareness of the vital role of hydrography in ensuring navigational safety and protecting the marine environment.
Go Skateboarding Day
An official holiday for all skateboarders. On this day, it is customary to gather in skate parks, hold competitions, and simply ride through city streets.
National Selfie Day
A modern holiday of the digital age that encourages people to take creative self-portraits and share them on social media.
International T-Shirt Day
A day dedicated to the most popular and universal wardrobe item in the world.
Sunday of the Apostles' Fast (Petrivka)
Since it is a Sunday, for believers who observe the fast, a relaxation is allowed: hot food with oil, fish, seafood, and a little wine are permitted.
Memorial Day of the Martyr Julian of Tarsus
According to the new (New Julian) calendar, on this day Saint Julian is honored, who suffered martyrdom for the Christian faith at the beginning of the 4th century.
According to the old (Julian) calendar: June 21 commemorates the transfer of the relics of the Great Martyr Theodore Stratelates.
