The Head of the Presidential Office stated systemic problems in the use of weapons by law enforcement officers. He proposes to implement the American model of protecting police rights.
Head of the President's Office Kyrylo Budanov stated the need for changes in approaches to police work. According to him, the state must protect its law enforcement officers, and society must respect their demands. Budanov stated this to journalists, as reported by UNN.
We need to review our approach, because all of this is a consequence of a systemic problem. You remember when there were bad cases of weapon use. Everyone remembers 2014. They don't use weapons because the consequences will be terrible. Then the Patrol Police was created, and almost immediately there was a case when patrol officers were chasing some civilian car, it didn't stop, and they started shooting at the tires. What happened to the patrol officers? They were convicted

We need to review approaches to police work. I like the example of the USA. There, you won't tell a police officer the reason for the stop, you won't tell him to get lost. This will end with the use of weapons, and he will be recognized as 100% right
