This decision cements institutional support for the ruling party, despite the controversial election process that has already disappeared from international news.
Following the election and the accompanying deadly anti-government protests, the Maduro administration has implemented measures that the opposition, human rights groups and labor unions view as a crackdown on dissent. Chief Justice Cariclia Rodriguez said that the Supreme Court had reviewed the electoral body's documents and confirmed Maduro's victory, emphasizing that the decision was final and not subject to appeal.
