Ukraine will receive the latest CT scanners and angiographs under a project with the World Bank: which regions will be allocated

Ukrainian specialized hospitals in different regions will receive 12 state-of-the-art CT scanners and 11 angiographs by the end of 2022 as part of cooperation with the World Bank.

Specialized hospitals will receive 12 newest CT scanners and 11 angiographs as part of Ukraine's cooperation with the World Bank, the Health Ministry said on Wednesday, UNN reports.

"Ukrainian specialized hospitals in different regions of Ukraine will receive 12 newest CT scanners and 11 angiographs by the end of this year," the Ministry of Health reported.

The procurement of medical equipment, as indicated, was carried out within the framework of a joint project of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and the World Bank and additional funding to it.

The Ministry of Health stated that the equipment was purchased "under direct contracts with manufacturers.

The equipment will reportedly be delivered to Vinnytsia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kirovohrad, Lviv, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Poltava, Rivne, Ternopil, Sumy, Khmelnytsky, Volyn, Dnipro, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia regions and the city of Kyiv.

"Hospital managers are responsible for the further sale and use of the equipment received. Hospital managers should ensure that all measures are taken to install and commission the equipment as soon as possible so that it works for the benefit of patients," the Ministry of Health reported.

The equipment will be delivered as specified after obtaining a license from the SNRIU and subject to the availability of premises. 

Addendum

According to the Ministry of Health, in 2023, the project managed to provide hospitals with 24 computed tomography scanners, which allow to increase the number of free highly specialized diagnostics and treatment.
