Ukraine is seeking to terminate its investment protection agreement with Belarus, citing the country's support for Russian aggression and violations of international law.
Today, the Cabinet of Ministers registered in the Verkhovna Rada a draft law "On the termination of the agreement between Ukraine and Belarus on the promotion and mutual protection of investments." This was reported by the Permanent Representative of the Cabinet of Ministers in the Verkhovna Rada Taras Melnychuk, UNN reports.
The draft law provides for the termination of the Agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the Republic of Belarus on the Promotion and Mutual Protection of Investments due to the support of the actions of the Russian Federation, which is recognized as an aggressor state, the involvement of the Republic of Belarus in the illegal use of force against Ukraine and the establishment of facts of discriminatory and unfriendly actions by the Republic of Belarus that violate the norms and principles of international law
