Ukraine has brought back 7 more children from the occupied territories

Today, 7 Ukrainian children were successfully returned from the temporarily occupied parts of Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions. This was reported by Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets, according to UNN.

Thanks to the active efforts of the Ombudsman's Office team within the framework of the President of Ukraine's initiative Bring Kids Back UA, we managed to bring home 7 more children.

- Lubinets reported.

He also thanked the First Lady of the United States of America, Melania Trump, for her humanitarian support of Ukraine's initiatives regarding the return of children.

Let's add

The Ombudsman also published the stories of the children who were returned:

  • A 13-year-old boy experienced too much for his age. He lost his father, and then his mother, remaining alone in the temporarily occupied territory of the Kherson region. There were no relatives nearby, so he was placed in the Novokyivskyi social rehabilitation center for minors. Now he is safe and will be with his sister;
    • two brothers, 13 and 16 years old, after the death of their parents, remained under the temporary guardianship of their cousin to avoid separation and placement in a specialized institution. Despite the boys clearly expressing their desire to reunite with their sister in the territory controlled by Ukraine, representatives of the children's services in the TOT and the police, without the presence of a legal representative, exerted psychological pressure on them and intimidated them, trying to change their decision. Now the brothers will be under the care of their sister, finally safe and protected;
      • a 14-year-old boy was reunited with his mother - they had not seen each other for more than 4 years. Now they are together after a long separation.

        Lubinets added that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, 2070 children have already been returned home, but thousands are still waiting.
