The UK Defense Secretary says the war in Ukraine is not at a standstill after the Ukrainian Armed Forces struck the russian ship Novocherkassk, undermining russian forces in the Black Sea.

On the night of December 26, Ukraine conducted an air strike on the russian landing ship Novocherkassk in the temporarily occupied Crimea. Later, the russian Defense Ministry confirmed the damage to the ship in Feodosia.
Humeniuk said that the large detonation at Novocherkassk indicates that there could have been a "Christmas gift" from russia to Ukraine.
She also stated that the large-scale detonation and fire on the landing craft may indicate that other ships may have also suffered from the effects of the attack.
