Ukraine and Italy sign a memorandum of cooperation on renewable energy development, focusing on energy transition and renewable energy during Ukraine's post-war recovery.
The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine and the Ministry of Environment and Energy Security of Italy signed a memorandum of cooperation in the development of renewable energy. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, UNN reports.

The document was signed by Deputy Energy Minister of Ukraine Svitlana Hrynchuk and Vice Minister of the Italian Ministry of Environment Vannia Gava at the UN Climate Change Conference COP28, which is taking place in Dubai.

Green transition and development of renewable energy are defined as one of the key tasks of the Energy Strategy of Ukraine until 2050, which was presented by Energy Minister Herman Galushchenko. The parties agreed to cooperate in the field of energy transition and renewable energy. In particular, during the post-war recovery and reconstruction of Ukraine to achieve the goals of decarbonizing the entire energy sector.
Appendix
The Memorandum provides for cooperation in the following areas of interest:
- technology transfer and capacity building in the renewable energy and energy efficiency sector; - exchange of best practices and knowledge in the energy transition and innovative technologies in the process of decarbonization;
- accelerate the deployment and use of renewable hydrogen, clean biogas and biomethane;
- strengthen public participation and exchange of best practices in energy system management, including the revision of the National Energy and Climate Plan (NECP).
Recall
More than 20 countries supported the COP28 Declaration on tripling nuclear power capacity by 2050, recognizing the key role of nuclear power in achieving global zero greenhouse gas emissions.
