According to media reports, Donald Trump is threatening to suspend the PURL mechanism, under which European countries purchase weapons from the United States, which are then transferred to Ukraine.
Earlier, the American newspaper The Wall Street Journal reported that the UAE is preparing to help the US and its allies forcibly open the Strait of Hormuz. If this happens, the UAE will become the first Persian Gulf country to enter hostilities against Iran.
The day before, the British authorities announced that on April 1, they would hold an online meeting with 35 countries to discuss ways to restore navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, through which approximately 20% of the world's oil supplies pass.
