U.S. President Donald Trump stated on Wednesday that the President of Iran wants a ceasefire ahead of his address to the American people. The American leader made this statement on his social network, Truth Social, UNN reports.

Trump also stated that a ceasefire would only occur when the Strait of Hormuz is "open, free, and clear."

Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, in an interview with Al Jazeera that aired late Tuesday, hinted at Tehran's readiness to continue the fight.
