In a social media post, Trump wrote that he "just passed a perfect medical exam" at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. At the same time, the White House clarified that the president was referring to the medical examination he underwent at the end of May.

The post came amid criticism of a book by New York Times journalists Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan, which details concerns among some White House staff about the president's age, physical condition, and stamina.
