The state budget of Ukraine lost UAH 9.3 billion in customs payments due to the blockade on the border with Poland, which affected exports.
In November 2023, the state budget lost UAH 9.3 billion in customs revenues due to the blockade of checkpoints on the border with Poland, Danylo Hetmantsev, MP, chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Taxation and Customs Policy, said during a telethon, UNN reports.
Details
According to Hetmantsev, the blockade of the border has become a powerful blow to the economy and exports for Ukraine. He noted that before the strike, the Yahodyn checkpoint used to let 1,300 cars through per day, and now it's 150, which has led to a 40% decrease in exports.
Hetmantsev also added that due to the strike at the border, carriers lost 400 million euros in the first two weeks of the blockade alone.
And if we talk about the budget, we can clearly determine that the budget lost 9.3 billion hryvnias from the shortfall in customs payments in November. This is a huge amount of money that the army did not receive and which we desperately need today
In addition, according to him, the customs plan is underperforming by 19%, although in October there was an overperformance.
Hetmantsev called on the governments of countries where carriers block the borders "not to play politics" but to comply with the European law that allows free movement of vehicles across the EU.
As a reminder
As of the morning of December 5, 110 heavy vehicles from Ukraine have been allowed through the Uhryniv-Dolhobyczów checkpoint on the Ukrainian-Polish border since the start of empty trucks .
