Priest Yevgeny Vorobyov used people and gas canisters to block parishioners from entering the church after they had transferred to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.

Gas canisters, batons, women and children as human shields - this is an incomplete list of "arguments" used by the rector of the Holy Kazan Church in Ladyzhyn, Vinnytsia region, Yevhen Vorobyov, against his former parishioners. The details of the situation were shared by the head of the newly created community of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, Mykhailo Bondarenko, in an exclusive commentary to UNN.

Details

Back in November of this year, the parishioners of the church held a meeting at which more than 1,300 people decided to move to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.

All documents were completed. The parishioners elected Mykhailo Bondarenko, an ATO/JFO participant, veteran, and public figure, as the head of the church community.

On December 28, representatives of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine tried to enter the church in a civilized manner. However, they were prevented by echeloned defense in the form of a priest with a gas canister, women with children, and some people with sticks.

"Unlike them, we behaved as correctly as possible. We had all the documents. They closed all the entrances to the church. Law enforcement officers recorded everything. We will not commit any illegal actions, we will go to court," said Mykhailo Bondarenko.

Optional

Yevhen Vorobyov is still the rector of the Holy Kazan Church in Ladyzhyn. His younger son Dmitry, according to media reports, has been studying in one of the theological academies in the territory of the aggressor state since the spring of 2022 .

The direct superiors of the rector of the church in Ladyzhyn have already been caught supporting Russia.

For example, Metropolitan Jonathan of Tulchyn and Bratslav has already received a five-year sentence for justifying Russian aggression. Archbishop Sergiy of Ladyzhynka is suspected of treason.
