The more we support Ukraine, the sooner the war will end - Stoltenberg
Kyiv • UNN
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg insists on unwavering support for Ukraine against Russian aggression, emphasizing that increased aid could speed up the end of the war.
Western allies should constantly support Ukraine in its defensive war against Russian aggression, regardless of the situation on the battlefield. This was stated by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg in an interview with the German public broadcaster ARD, UNN reports.
Details
According to him, the speed of Ukraine's victory depends on the support of international partners.
I am always cautious about making predictions about the real situation at the front, because war is inherently unpredictable. The only thing we know is that the more we support Ukraine, the sooner this war will end
He emphasized that it would be a tragedy for Ukraine if President Putin won, but it is also dangerous for the West.
Stoltenberg also noted Ukraine's significant achievements on the battlefield in recent months.
Little has changed at the front in recent months. Ukrainians have been able to inflict heavy losses on Russian troops by attacking with cruise missiles deep behind enemy lines, destroying airplanes and helicopters. And they were able to push the Russian Black Sea Fleet back into the eastern part of the Black Sea. This means that they can now keep the sea route open for ships that have to transport grain from Ukraine through the Black Sea. So these are big victories, even if they were not able to move the front line
Supplement
He also added that it is necessary to "be prepared for bad news" and not to give up on helping Ukraine.
We should also be prepared for bad news. The course of wars is not a steady but a changing process. We must support Ukraine in good times and bad. The current war is a war of attrition, a battle for efficiency, a battle for logistics
To recap,
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that we need to be prepared for intensified fighting in Ukraineas well as more air and missile attacks on Ukrainian cities
