Ukraine's Defense Minister Umerov calls on local authorities to increase support for mobilization and national defense, including the construction of fortifications and preparations for military service and national resistance.

Yesterday, there was a meeting of the Congress of local and regional authorities under the chairmanship of the President of Ukraine and with the participation of the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, the Prime Minister, the Head of the President's Office, members of the Government, deputies, heads of OVA, representatives of local self-government bodies
He called the conversation important and meaningful. Umerov said that he, as the Minister of Defense, outlined the directions on which he and the local authorities are focused today.
"Construction of fortifications. This is about the protection of our country," Umerov noted.
Also, according to him, it is necessary to change the approaches to the preparation of conscripts for military service and the population for national resistance.
"All our people must be trained and prepared," the minister added.
He also said that he expects more assistance from local self-government bodies in the mobilization work.
Local self-government bodies can significantly increase the involvement of specialists in the Defense Forces through the recruiting project. We expect from them an even greater contribution to the mobilization work, Umerov wrote.

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, emphasized that the priority task for all authorities at the moment is the defense of the Ukrainian state.
