In Kyiv region, there is a surge in the incidence of influenza and respiratory infections, with more than half of the cases being children. Vaccination is emphasized as a key preventive measure.

The incidence of influenza and acute respiratory viral infections among the population is on the rise in Kyiv region. More than half of the cases are children. This was stated during a briefing by Natalia Rodina, Director General of the Kyiv Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, UNN reports.

During the current epidemic season, 151,835 people fell ill with influenza and ARVI, of whom 3% had laboratory-confirmed cases of coronavirus.

The highest incidence rates are in Boryspil, Brovary, and Obukhiv districts, and the lowest in Vyshhorod district.

The EBA emphasized that vaccination is the best way to prevent influenza and COVID-19. Vaccination is recommended before and throughout the epidemic season. Influenza vaccination is recommended, and the vaccine can be purchased at pharmacies. Vaccination against COVID-19 is free of charge. In October-December, a sufficient number of vaccines were supplied to healthcare facilities.
