What is Dryland canicross
Dryland canicross is a canine sport. The essence is that the dog runs in a special harness and pulls the runner behind it, with both connected by a shock-absorbing line.
This sport involves special K9 races held as separate events. These races can also be part of competitions for canine services of the Security and Defense Forces.
Basic safety rules during Dryland canicross:
- It is forbidden to use regular (non-sled)
collars. This helps avoid neck injuries to the dog during a jerk;
- Dogs aged from
12-15 months may participate in competitions, depending on the organization's regulations;
- The dog must be socialized and non-aggressive towards
other participants in the competition;
- Cruel treatment of animals or the use of
electronic collars is prohibited.
