Director and screenwriter Jim Abrahams has died at the age of 80 at his home in Santa Monica. He co-wrote the legendary comedies "airplane!", "Naked Gun" and " hotheads!".

Jim Abrams died at the age of 80. The death of the outstanding director was announced by his son Joseph. He said his father died of natural causes at his home in Santa Monica. 

Jim Abrahams has worked with Jerry and David Zucker on a number of popular parodies, and the trio known as ZAZ has worked together on many hit films, including airplane!"and  A Naked Gun.

Before releasing the film "Airplane!"ZAZ took  a break during which they made parodies of advertising. The film grossed 1 171 million from a budget of just 3 3.5 million and regularly appears on the "best comedy of all time"lists.

Jim Abrahams also worked on the creation of the 1982 Television Series  "police squad!", which starred Leslie Nielsen and the fake police show of the time.

The film "Naked Gun" was also a success and was directed in 1986, which made a significant profit of  152 million  dollars.

In addition, the film " hotheads!"1991 with Charlie Sheen in the title role. Abrahams later co-wrote the screenplay  for the 2006 film Very Scary Movie 4.
