A deputy of the regional council was detained in Ternopil region for demanding kickbacks from a soldier in exchange for the allocation of financial aid for the treatment of a wounded soldier.
A deputy of the regional council was detained in Ternopil region who demanded kickbacks for the allocation of material aid for wounded soldiers of the Defense Forces. This was reported by UNN with reference to the press service of the SBU and NABU.

It is noted that the official holds the position of chairman of the Standing Committee on Budget.
According to the investigation, the official offered to assist the serviceman in allocating him financial assistance for treatment. For this, after the funds were transferred to his bank card, he was to give the official half the amount.
Law enforcement officers gradually documented the criminal activity of the deputy and detained him red-handed while he was receiving a new bribe.
Within the framework of criminal proceedings under Part 3 of Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (acceptance of an offer, promise or receipt of an unlawful benefit by an official), the issue of serving him a notice of suspicion and choosing a measure of restraint is being decided. The investigation is ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the crime. The offender faces up to 10 years in prison
