Ukraine has launched an investigation into the execution of three Ukrainian soldiers captured by Russian troops, which is a violation of the Geneva Convention.
Prosecutors have launched an investigation into the shooting of three Ukrainian prisoners of war by russian troops near Robotyno, Zaporizhzhia region. This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General with reference to UNN.
Details
Under the procedural supervision of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Prosecutor's Office, criminal proceedings were initiated over the violation of the laws and customs of war combined with premeditated murder (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, in December 2023, during a military clash with the Ukrainian Defense Forces near the village of Robotyno, Zaporizhzhia region, russian army servicemen captured three Ukrainian defenders. An hour later, in violation of Article 3 of the Geneva Convention relative to the Treatment of Prisoners of War, the occupiers shot them dead
The agency noted that the video has already been shared on social media.

It is noted that over the past month, the ideology of execution of Ukrainian soldierswho surrendered appeared on the network. The use of Ukrainian prisoners of war as human shields on the contact line was also recorded.
A pre-trial investigation into the commission of war crimes by Russian military personnel is underway.
