The Russian agent was sentenced to 15 years in prison.

A Russian agent who was preparing air strikes against the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the National Guard in Kyiv was sentenced to 15 years in prison, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) said on Wednesday, UNN reports.

Details

A member of the FSB agent group that was neutralized in September 2022 received a real prison term based on evidence collected by the Security Service.

Back then, SBU cyber specialists conducted a successful special operation in Kyiv to detain a Russian agent and his accomplice who were preparing a series of air strikes on the capital.

According to the SBU, the enemy's priority targets included possible locations of the Armed Forces and the National Guard in the city, as well as the technical condition of energy facilities, including thermal power plants, which the aggressor planned to target with missile or drone attacks.

SBU officers exposed the Russian agent in time to prevent a series of attacks on Kyiv's military and critical infrastructure. The court sentenced him to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.

According to the investigation, the convict is a 46-year-old Kyiv resident who was recruited by an FSB officer in August 2022. His accomplice, a 39-year-old resident of the capital known as "Narik," took photos and videos of Ukrainian facilities and transferred the files to the Russian agent.

He received a monetary reward for his treasonous cooperation with the occupiers. The court found him guilty of high treason committed under martial law and sentenced him under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
