Over the past day, the Russian army lost about 1,490 military personnel and more than 240 pieces of equipment. Total losses reached 1,478,070 personnel.
Over the past day, August 23, Russian forces lost approximately 1,490 servicemen at the front, while the total combat losses of the Russian army since the beginning of the full-scale invasion reached approximately 1,478,070 personnel. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on August 24, according to UNN.

Over the past day, Ukrainian forces destroyed one Russian tank, nine armored combat vehicles, 68 artillery systems, two multiple-launch rocket systems, and one air defense system.
The Defense Forces also destroyed 16 ground robotic systems, 1,761 operational-tactical unmanned aerial vehicles, 554 vehicles and fuel tanks, and six pieces of special equipment.
Total losses of the Russian army
Since February 24, 2022, Russian forces have lost 12,293 tanks, 25,211 armored combat vehicles, 48,519 artillery systems, 2,056 multiple-launch rocket systems, and 1,586 air defense systems.
In addition, 440 aircraft, 354 helicopters, 478,327 operational-tactical UAVs, 5,052 cruise missiles, 35 ships and boats, two submarines, 138,773 vehicles and fuel tanks, as well as 4,575 pieces of special equipment have been destroyed.
