Since the beginning of February 2025, CERT-UA has been recording targeted cyber activity aimed at military formations, law enforcement agencies and local self-government bodies near the eastern border.

The occupiers are stepping up attacks on centers of innovation development in the military sphere with the help of ransomware programs. This was reported by the State Service of Special Communications and Information Protection, writes UNN.

It is noted that the government's computer emergency response team of Ukraine CERT-UA has been recording targeted cyber activity in the military sphere since the beginning of February 2025.

Military formations, law enforcement agencies and local self-government bodies, in particular those located near the eastern border of Ukraine, are also under the gun of cybercriminals.

The attacks are carried out by distributing e-mails with Excel documents. The file names and subject lines mention topical and sensitive issues: demining, administrative fines, UAV production, compensation for destroyed property, etc.
