Putin signs a decree to increase the one-time payment to 400 thousand rubles for those who agree to fight in Ukraine. The payment has more than doubled compared to the previous amount.

Russia has more than doubled payments to Russians and foreigners who agree to sign a contract with the Russian Defense Ministry and be sent to the war in Ukraine. The relevant decree was signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin. reports UNN.

According to the document, the one-time payment for those who agreed to participate in the  war against Ukraine will increase to 400 thousand rubles.

Until now, those wishing to go to the combat zone, as well as military and mobilized personnel who signed a contract after September 21, 2022, received a payment of 195 thousand rubles. Thus, its size has more than doubled.

However, only those who sign a contract from August 1 to December 31, 2024, will be eligible for the increased payment. At the same time, Putin recommended that the regions also pay at least 400,000 citizens who decided to go to war.

According to the Russian media, since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, more than 50 Russian regions have introduced payments for enlistment in contract service to fill the ranks of the army.

In particular, Moscow has established "social support measures" in the amount of 1.9 million rubles for those who will go to war in Ukraine from July 23. In Tatarstan, the one-time payment was increased by half a million to 1.5 million rubles. Citizens who signed a contract before July 31 can count on such payments.

In addition, regional authorities have also started promising monetary rewards to those who bring a contractor to the selection point. In Tatarstan, it is 100 thousand rubles.

Similar "actions" are taking place in Yakutia, Mordovia, YNAO, Arkhangelsk, Kaluga, Ivanovo, Voronezh, and Yaroslavl regions.
