According to the Russian Defense Ministry, Belousov held a regular meeting on ensuring the security of the population and infrastructure facilities in the country's border areas in Kursk, Bryansk and Belgorod regions.
It is reported that "additional measures to ensure the integrity and inviolability of the territory, as well as the protection of the population and infrastructure in the Belgorod region were discussed."
"We are going to hear a plan of specific actions prepared by the General Staff for additional measures. First of all, we are talking about improving the efficiency of the troop management system in cooperation with other law enforcement agencies and the Belgorod region administration, identifying responsible officials, as well as allocating additional forces and means to be used to perform the main tasks," Belousov emphasized.
He also added that he would personally oversee the implementation of the "presented plan".
