Romania scrambled a military helicopter IAR 330 Puma to monitor a Russian attack on Ukraine 31 km from Sulina. No airspace incursion was reported.

Romania scrambled a military helicopter due to a Russian attack on Ukraine near the Romanian border, the Romanian Ministry of National Defense reported on Friday, writes UNN.

"On the night of June 25-26, the Russian Federation launched a new wave of drone attacks targeting civilian objects and infrastructure in Ukraine, near the river border with Romania," the statement reads.
"An IAR 330 Puma helicopter of the Romanian Air Force took off at 03:57 to monitor the air situation, tracking the movement of aerial targets 31 km east of Sulina," the Romanian Ministry of Defense said.
It is reported that the population in the northern part of Tulcea County was alerted.
The air alert, as stated, ended at 04:23.
"No unauthorized incursions into airspace or cases of any aircraft colliding with the ground were reported," the Romanian Ministry of Defense noted.
The Romanian Ministry of National Defense, as stated, "informs allied structures in real time about situations caused by these attacks and maintains constant contact with them."
