Details
According to the SBI, a law enforcement officer from Rivne region and his friend, who organized a scheme for the illegal transportation of men to Belarus, have been notified of suspicion.
In November of this year, two acquaintances who wanted to leave for the EU approached the suspect, and he offered them a trip to Belarus, saying it was "safer" that way.
Such transportation cost $8,000 per person.
The law enforcement officer planned to transport the "clients" from Rivne past all the checkpoints to one of the villages near the border in his own car. Then his accomplice was to transport the men to the border itself. The men were to cross the border on their own following the instructions provided.
On December 12, 2024, the law enforcement officer was caught "red-handed" after receiving funds from one of the "clients".
