According to the Lithuanian leader, first of all, Kyiv and Warsaw must themselves express readiness for such a format of mediation.

"First of all, they themselves must express such a desire. I have already said in my annual address that I am ready to do everything possible so that the connection between two peoples close to us – Poland and Ukraine – is not destroyed," Nausėda stated.

The President of Lithuania announced that in the coming days he will travel to Poland, where he will meet with President Karol Nawrocki. According to him, during the informal meeting, the parties also plan to discuss the situation in relations between Kyiv and Warsaw.

"We will talk about this issue, which is very important to me," he said.

At the same time, Nausėda noted that currently both Ukraine and Poland declare their intention to resolve the contradictions independently, without involving mediators.

"This is exactly the position I heard from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland, Radosław Sikorski. But if both sides come to the conclusion that they need a mediator, and such a request is made, I am certainly ready to fulfill this role," the President of Lithuania emphasized.

He also noted that during the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Gdańsk, the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Yuliia Svyrydenko, made it clear that Kyiv seeks to resolve the conflict.

"The past is important, but even more important is the present, when aggression against Ukraine continues," Nausėda stressed.
