The Crimean bridge will cease to exist at some point. This was stated by the spokesman for the Ukrainian Navy Dmytro Pletenchuk during a telethon, an UNN correspondent reports .
When asked what was known about the condition of the Crimean bridge, Pletenchuk replied:
"They (Russians - ed.) cannot count on its full functioning, both from a technical and security point of view. From the technical point of view, they cannot and do not use it after the damage, especially if we take the railroad. While the road part of the bridge was generally replaced after damage, the situation with the railroad is more complicated. Security means that in case of air raids or any threats, the bridge is closed.
In addition, according to him, the very method of controlling the passage across the bridge causes a lot of discomfort to the vacation of illegal tourists from Russia.
"In any case, work is constantly underway, and at some point this facility will cease to exist," Pletenchuk said.
When asked how many boom barriers the Russians had built, how many such lines of defense, Pletenchuk said: "At least two. In any case, all this can be considered one structure, one line. Only its technical parameters and characteristics can change. They periodically complete something there, but in any case, the passage remains open, because they are shipping illegally, because this water area is officially closed by Ukraine, these are the territorial waters of Ukraine.
Addendum
On the night of August 16, the occupiers reported blocking of the Crimean bridge.
In July 2024, the head of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, Kirill Budanov, said that the Crimean bridge should be destroyed.
