Ukraine's President said that photos and videos from the crash site of the Embraer 190 plane point to Russian responsibility. Azerbaijan Airlines reported “external interference” as the cause of the crash.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that photos and videos from the crash site of the Embraer 190 plane of Azerbaijan Airlines eloquently testify to Russia's responsibility for the tragedy. Zelensky wrote about this on the social network X, UNN reports.

"More and more details of the horrific crash of the Azerbaijan Airlines flight are emerging. Every human life is precious, and every loss of life deserves a thorough investigation to establish the truth. We can see that the photos and videos from the crash site eloquently demonstrate Russia's responsibility for the tragedy. If Russia continues to spread lies, just as it did in the case of the downing of MH17, it will be necessary to consolidate all international pressure on Moscow to ensure that the truth is established and the perpetrators are brought to justice," Zelensky wrote.

He also expressed his condolences to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and the Azerbaijani people.

Recall

According to preliminary results, the crash of the Embraer 190 plane, which crashed on December 25, while flying from Baku (Azerbaijan) to Grozny (Chechnya), was caused by "external interference," Azerbaijan Airlines said.

After the Embraer plane crashed near Aktau, Russia claimed that the pilot was offered other airports to land at, but decided to proceed to Aktau.

In his speech on the crash, the head of the Russian Federal Aviation Agency, Dmitry Yadrov, said that "in connection with the crash of the Embraer plane near Aktau, the Russian side immediately informed its Kazakh and Azerbaijani colleagues of its full and comprehensive readiness to cooperate in the investigation of this tragedy. It is necessary to thoroughly and fully verify all the circumstances of the incident. I would note that the situation on that day and at those hours in the vicinity of Grozny airport was extremely difficult. At that time, Ukrainian combat drones were carrying out terrorist attacks on civilian infrastructure in the cities of Grozny and Vladikavkaz.
