Nobel laureate Svetlana Aleksievich faces threats of confiscation of her apartment in Minsk, allegedly for the family of a law enforcement officer.

Nobel Prize winner Sviatlana Aleksievich is threatened with the deprivation of her apartment in Minsk. The hosts of Belarusian state television stated on air that this apartment would be ideal for the family of a law enforcement officer, UNN reports with reference to Radio Liberty.

Alexievich confirmed the information about the threats to Die Zeit.

"I have a large apartment that I bought with the money from the Nobel Prize... Now the propagandists are saying that this apartment is really ideal for a family man from the Omon special forces. Lukashenko threatens to take revenge on everyone who participated in the revolution," the writer said.

Aleksiyevych also emphasized that she misses her home very much.

"Right now I would say that my home is nowhere to be found. Because I still can't come to terms with the idea that I'm gone forever. I want to return, but there is nowhere to return to," the Nobel laureate added.
