Ukraine has no plans to introduce local quarantines or restrictions due to COVID-19. The country has a sufficient supply of vaccines and is in the inter-epidemic period without a significant increase in the incidence.

In Ukraine , there is no risk of local quarantines or restrictive measures due to COVID-19. This was announced by the Deputy Minister of Health, Chief State Sanitary Doctor Igor Kuzin during a briefing, according to a UNN correspondent.

Ukraine is currently in the so-called inter-epidemic period. That is, when we should not expect significant growth that would lead to quarantine restrictions

- Kuzin said.

According to him, if during the inter-epidemic period there is an excess of annual averages, local restrictive anti-epidemic measures will be recommended in those regions where they are recorded. Recommendations will depend on which specific groups are affected in a particular region.

As of today, we are still quite far from the indicators that bring us closer to these quarantine or anti-epidemic restrictions. Therefore, there are no risks of local quarantines or restrictive measures yet. But I would like to urge all Ukrainians to take care of themselves, because we should not forget about basic preventive measures, such as washing hands after public places or crowded places

- Kuzin said.

Addendum

Ukraine has more than 500 thousand doses of Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine. For 2025, the government has already formed an application for vaccines. According to preliminary information, the vaccine will be provided free of charge.

Kuzin reported that at least 10 different subtypes of coronavirus are circulating in Ukraine , including the FLiRT strain, which was registered for the first time in the world in March this year. The number of cases has increased in the country over the past month, but there are no predictions of an epidemic.

Kuzin also reported that the new sub-variant of the Omicron coronavirus, FLiRT, does not cause severe disease in people who have been vaccinated or have been revaccinated when indicated.
