A NATO Boeing E-3A Sentry aircraft took off from an airbase in Lithuania and is patrolling over Romania. The mission is aimed at monitoring the situation in Ukraine, Crimea, and the Black Sea.
A NATO Boeing E-3A Sentry long-range radar detection and control aircraft has begun patrolling in the direction of the temporarily occupied Crimea. This is evidenced by data from the Flightradar service, reports UNN.

According to the flight tracking service, the aircraft with the call sign NATO21 took off from the NATO airbase in Šiauliai, Lithuania, and is conducting a flight over the territory of Romania. It was refueled in the air by a Boeing KC-135T Stratotanker tanker aircraft, which arrived from the Mildenhall airbase in the United Kingdom.
The Boeing E-3A Sentry is a long-range radar detection and control aircraft (AWACS) used for monitoring the air and surface situation, coordinating aviation operations, and gathering intelligence information.
According to monitoring resources, the mission involves assessing the situation on the front in Ukraine, in the temporarily occupied Crimea, and in the Black Sea waters.
