NATO member states will provide more than $7 million and 10,000 uniforms, shoes and other military equipment to Ukrainian women soldiers.

One of the first results of the 75th NATO summit in Washington was that NATO member states will provide more than $7 million in aid to Ukrainian women soldiers. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense, UNN writes.

At an event following the NATO roundtable on Women, Peace, and Security, U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken announced an initiative to help Ukrainian women in the military.

Today we are taking a step to provide Ukrainian servicemen with the necessary equipment. NATO Allies will provide more than $7 million for this purpose,

- Blinken said.

The aid will also include more than 10,000 uniforms, footwear and other military equipment.

The Ministry of Defense notes that since the beginning of 2023, negotiations with NATO have been ongoing to increase funding. In March 2024, Deputy Minister of Defense Natalia Kalmykova met with Irene Fellin, NATO Special Representative, and Karen McTeer, Head of NATO's Mission to Ukraine.

During these meetings, the parties agreed to hold consultations and cooperate on the implementation of gender equality in the security and defense structures of Ukraine.
