A man launched fireworks during an air raid in Snihurivka, Mykolaiv region; he faces up to 5 years for hooliganism. Police warn against using pyrotechnics during martial law.

In Snihurivka, Mykolaiv region, a man set off fireworks at night during an air raid alarm. The police caught him. He explained his actions by the desire to have fun. This was reported by the Main Directorate of the National Police in Mykolaiv region, UNN reports.

The police reported that on January 3, at about 3:20 a.m., the police station received a report that unknown persons had launched a fireworks display on a street in Snihurivka.

Law enforcement officials reported that they had exposed a 36-year-old local resident who, while drunk, decided to launch fireworks for fun. Law enforcement officers found a used fireworks box near the offender's house.

The man was served a notice of suspicion under the article "Hooliganism". The lover of fun faces up to 5 years in prison.

"Dear citizens, the police of Mykolaiv region remind you that in our region, as well as throughout Ukraine, there is a ban on the sale and use of pyrotechnics. Launching salutes, using firecrackers and fireworks during martial law is prohibited and criminal liability is provided for such an offense," the police reiterated.
