A law enforcement officer suspected of killing a 16-year-old teenager at a funicular station in Kyiv will be asked to file a motion for a pre-trial restraint in the form of detention today.

"Today, the prosecutor's office will request a measure of restraint for the suspect in the murder of the boy on the funicular in the form of detention," the prosecutor's office told UNN.
According to the spokeswoman, the request has been submitted for consideration to the Pechersk District Court of Kyiv. In the request, the prosecutor asks to choose a preventive measure for the suspect in the form of detention without bail.

According to the State Bureau of Investigation, on April 7, a conflict occurred at a funicular station in Kyiv between a man who serves as a driver in the State Protection Department and a minor. After getting out of the car at the upper station, the law enforcement officer pushed the teenager. He fell, smashed his head against the glass, and received a fatal cut to his neck. The minor died at the scene, the SBI said.
On April 8, a steam railway guard was notified of suspicion of premeditated murder after he pushed a teenager who fell and died at a funicular station in Kyiv.
According to the Zmina Football School, the deceased was their 16-year-old student.
