"On the first day of searches conducted in Ostrówki and Wola Ostrowiecka, remains were found," the Institute of National Remembrance of Poland stated in its report.
As reported, a "previously unknown mass grave" was discovered at the former farmstead of Strazhytsia in Wola Ostrowska. The Polish institute linked this site to the events of August 1943.
"It is located approximately twelve meters from the memorial site where exhumation work was carried out in 1992. The initial stage of uncovering the contours of the burial does not yet allow for an accurate assessment of its size, but it is certainly a mass grave," the Polish institute reported.
