Producers reject Madonna's demand for a $100 million budget for a biopic about her life. The singer plans to raise the funds herself, not wanting to lose control of the project.
The producers of Madonna's upcoming biopic "laughed" at the singer's demand for $100 million to realize the project, but she "is not going to do it any other way," UNN writes with reference to the Daily Mail.
Details
On Monday morning, 66-year-old Madonna shared news with her fans about the long-awaited movie about her life.
The film, directed by the singer herself and starring Julia Garner, has been in development for many years, but has faced numerous problems and delays.
In her latest post, Madonna said that the producers had set a new condition for her to work on the movie, saying that it would not be made unless she "scaled it down.
According to a Daily Mail source, one of the reasons for the disagreement was Madonna's demand for a $100 million budget for the film, which did not suit the producers.
"Madonna wanted 100 million dollars, and the producers laughed at her. They told her it was ridiculous," they explained.
But the "perfectionist" Madonna is not going to back down, the source added: "Now she's going to raise $100 million on her own. She's not going to give control of that to a studio so they can make a fortune telling her story.
The insider explained that the singer is known among her friends as "demanding and control freak" - but that's what makes her work so amazing.
"Is she difficult? Extremely. Is she hard to work for? Absolutely. She is known for being a perfectionist, demanding and control freak," they shared.
