On Thursday, the Cabinet of Ministers of Israel decided to open the Erez crossing between the country and the northern part of the Gaza Strip, which became possible for the first time after the terrorist attacks carried out by Hamas on October 7.
The Cabinet representative emphasized that the reopening of the crossing is aimed at providing more humanitarian aid to the residents of the Gaza Strip in need.
In addition, the Cabinet approved the use of the Israeli port of Ashdod to transfer additional humanitarian aid to the Gaza enclave.
Despite these steps aimed at alleviating the humanitarian situation in Gaza, land crossings into the Strip remain severely restricted.
