A Czech court has sentenced former soldier Filip Siman, who served in Ukraine as a volunteer, to seven years in prison for looting. The court found Siman guilty of committing looting in the area of hostilities. This was reported by Radio Prague International, according to UNN.

Prosecutor Martin Beli told the newspaper that the verdict in Siman's case is the first sentence for such a crime in connection with the war in Ukraine. The verdict may be reviewed.

Philippe Seaman traveled to Ukraine in March 2022, received basic military training and weapons. With a group of volunteers he commanded, he relocated to Irpin and Bucha. According to the text of the verdict, while performing missions and in his free time, he appropriated property of both civilians and fallen soldiers.
