Ukraine is improving its 5-7-9% business assistance program to include only micro, small, and medium-sized businesses, in line with agreements with the IMF.

The government has expanded the opportunities for entrepreneurs to receive state support and focused the 5-7-9% program exclusively on micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, without large businesses, to fulfill agreements with the IMF, the Finance Ministry said on Thursday, UNN reports.

On December 27, the government reportedly adopted a resolution amending the procedures governing the provision of financial state support to businesses. Thus, the procedures for the implementation of the programs "Affordable Loans 5-7-9%", "Affordable Financial Leasing 5-7-9%" and "Affordable Factoring" have been improved. First of all, restrictions on receiving state support for entrepreneurs were lifted:

  • those that have re-registered to the government-controlled territory of Ukraine but are unable to relocate their business, but fulfill their obligations under loan agreements in a timely manner and pay taxes, fees and mandatory payments to the state budget of Ukraine;
  • those registered, in particular, in the territories of Kherson (including the city of Kherson), Mykolaiv and Dnipro regions, for which the date of the end of hostilities and temporary occupation has already been determined, but the date has not yet been included in the List of active hostilities areas where state electronic information resources operate.

In order to fulfill the agreements with the IMF, it is planned to focus the 5-7-9% Program exclusively on micro, small and medium-sized enterprises
