In Kyiv, in Obolon, an unknown person shot a local resident, the shooter was found and detained, a criminal investigation has been opened, the GUNP in the capital reported on Wednesday, writes UNN.

Today, March 26, at 14:35, the police were informed that on Yordanska Street, an unknown person fired several shots at a local resident and fled the scene. Police officers with a service dog went to the scene.

Law enforcement officers found a 48-year-old victim with head wounds, who was taken to a hospital in serious condition by doctors. During the inspection of the scene, law enforcement officers found spent cartridges.

"A special police operation was introduced in the city and all police units were oriented to search for the attacker. As a result of the measures taken, the police found the attacker's car and detained the shooter. He turned out to be a 52-year-old Kyiv resident, and investigative actions are currently ongoing with him," the police said.

The wounded man, as indicated, was hospitalized in a serious condition.

A criminal proceeding has been initiated on this fact under Part 4 of Art. 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

"The motives and all circumstances of the incident are currently being clarified," the police emphasized.
