According to Ukrainian Air Force spokesman Yuriy Ignat, Russian forces often launch long-range Shahid drones in the evening, which are capable of circling before striking targets.

Russian occupants usually launch Shakhtys in the evening. Due to their large   range, they can make circles rather than immediately hit the target. This was reported by the spokesman for the Ukrainian Air Force Command, Yuriy Ihnat, during a telethon, according to a correspondent of UNN .

Details

Shahids are usually launched in groups, in waves, they fly apart, maneuver. These are internal combustion engines... The route that the operators laid out for them at the launch site remains in their "memory." In this way, they make circles, they can circle around the area, they can fly in a straight line where they were directed, and then they can enter the target

- Ihnat said.

According to him, the launches usually start in the evening and last until late at night, until the Ukrainian defenders destroy the last Shahed.

I wouldn't say it's that different (time of attack - ed.). "Shaheds have always flown for a long time. They used to be launched from the Kherson region, the first launches, when the Defense Forces had not yet driven the enemy to the left bank of the Dnipro, and they were launched from the Kherson region. After that, they moved to Crimea. The flight duration is getting longer, the average speed of the Shahed is 150 km/h, and that's why it happens

 - Ihnat explained.

He noted that it is indeed possible  that the Russians used to launch Shaheds more in a straight line. Now the enemy has other goals.

"Why are they doing this? First, they are looking for weaknesses. There are several goals they set for themselves. First of all, we must not forget that this is not a reconnaissance drone, but a strike drone. It has its own target and is flying to destroy it. They also really maneuver, find out where they were destroyed, not destroyed, and take this information into account for further strikes," Ihnat said.

Supplement

The Air Force destroyed 30 attack drones in 11 regions of Ukraine during the night attack.
