The High Council of Justice has approved the arrest of Kyiv Court of Appeal judge Ihor Palenyk on bribery charges, following the previously authorized arrest of his colleague Vyacheslav Dziubin.

The High Council of Justice has agreed to keep in custody Kyiv Court of Appeal judge Ihor Palenyk, who is suspected of taking a bribe, UNN reports.

Details

The HCJ granted the motion of Deputy Prosecutor General - Head of the SAPO Oleksandr Klymenko to agree to apply a preventive measure in the form of detention to Palenyk.

Prior to that, the HCJ authorized the arrest of Kyiv Court of Appeal judge Vyacheslav Dziubin.

The next step is to consider applications for permission to arrest judges  of the Kyiv Court of Appeal Yuriy Slyva and  Viktor Hlynianyi.

Addendum

Four judges of the Kyiv Court of Appeal, who were caught taking bribes to lift the seizure of property of a private company, were served with a notice of suspicion.

As UNN has learned from its own sources, these are Yuriy Slyva, Viktor Hlynianyi, Ihor Palenyk and Viacheslav Dziubin.
