The HACCU seized the phone of Interpipe Ukraine LLC's director as part of an investigation into Ukrnafta's purchase of pipes at inflated prices. The damage to the state is estimated at at least UAH 18 million.

As a result of the conspiracy between Interpipe Ukraine LLC (owned by Victor Pinchuk through a number of offshore companies) and PJSC Ukrnafta, the state could have suffered losses of at least UAH 18 million through the purchase of casing pipes at inflated prices. This is stated in the ruling of the High Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine, by which the court ruled to impose a cell phone seized during a search of the director of Interpipe Ukraine LLC Denys Morozov.

The HACCU ruling states that on July 18, during a search at the residence of Denys Morozov, director of Interpipe Ukraine LLC , a Samsung SM-G975F/DS mobile phone protected by a logic protection system was found and seized.

During the search, PERSON_6 (director of Interpipe Ukraine LLC Denys Morozov - Ed.), on the recommendation of his lawyer, deliberately blocked the phone and refused to provide the password for access to it, which made it impossible to review the information contained in it and to establish the details of the phone during the search

- the ruling says.

In order to overcome the protection system and conduct an expert examination, the NABU detective decided to seize the cell phone, the decision says.

As stated in the court decision, in order to ensure the preservation of material evidence (Article 170(2)(1) of the CPC of Ukraine), the prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office requested to seize a mobile phone seized during a search at the residence.

The court granted the prosecutor's motion and seized the Samsung SM-G975F/DS mobile phone of Denys Morozov, director of Interpipe Ukraine LLC, and temporarily banned its use, disposal and alienation.

The HACC ruling specifies that NABU detectives are conducting a pre-trial investigation into the alleged commission of illegal actions by officials of PJSC Ukrnafta, which were expressed in the fact that they, acting intentionally and abusing their official position, with the possible assistance of officials of Interpipe Ukraine LLC, by concluding a purchase and sale agreement No. 23/1490-MTR dated 02. 08.2023 for the supply of casing pipes at obviously inflated prices and subsequent payment for these goods, they committed embezzlement of funds in particularly large amounts, and the probable amount of damage from the purchase of pipes at an inflated (according to the investigative version of events) cost is at least UAH 18 million.

"During the pre-trial investigation, it was established that the value of the goods that are the subject of contract No. 23/1490-MTR dated 02.08.2023 concluded between PJSC Ukrnafta and Interpipe Ukraine LLC is overstated, and the probable amount of damage from the purchase of pipes at an inflated value is at least UAH 18,084,993.91 (including VAT). According to the investigative version of events, the overstatement of the value of the goods was made by reselling the goods between legal entities (Interpipe NIKO Tube LLC to Interpipe Novomoskovsk Pipe Plant JSC and subsequently to Interpipe Ukraine LLC, which, in turn, delivered the goods to the final recipient, PJSC Ukrnafta)," the HACC decision states.

According to open registers, the director of Interpipe Ukraine LLC is Denis Morozov.
