Four people have died from the flu in Ukraine since the beginning of the epidemic season

This season, 1.7 million cases of respiratory diseases have been registered in Ukraine, with 56% of the cases being children. There have been four fatalities from the flu.
Since the beginning of the current epidemic season in October, 1.7 million people in Ukraine have contracted SARS, influenza, and COVID-19, 56% of them children. Since the beginning of the epidemic season, four deaths due to influenza have been registered, UNN reports, citing data from the Center for Public Health and the Ministry of Health.

From October 2 to December 24, 2023, 1.7 million people (4.9%), which is 33% more than in the same period of the 2022-2023 season. The proportion of children among those infected is 56.1%.
During the week of December 18-24, 152,073 cases of the disease were registered in the country, of which 85,023 were among children under the age of 17. 4,684 Ukrainians were hospitalized, 2,303 of whom were children under 17.
A total of 8,709 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported. In two regions - Vinnytsia and Kirovohrad - three cases of the new sub-variant of the coronavirus "Pirola" were detected. 1,870 patients required special medical care in hospitals. In particular, 6 children were admitted to the intensive care unit.
Influenza A and B viruses are circulating in 10 regions of Ukraine. Two people died from complications of the disease in Ivano-Frankivsk region. In both cases, the patients were not vaccinated against influenza and COVID-19. The first two deaths in the region from flu complications were registered two weeks ago.
Thus, since the beginning of the epidemic season, 4 fatalities due to influenza have been registered.
