Former commander of a territorial defense brigade in Lviv region has been served a suspicion notice due to official negligence. As a result of his actions, military personnel were unjustifiably paid nearly 80 million UAH in combat allowances.

In the Lviv region, a former commander of a territorial defense brigade has been notified of suspicion of official negligence during the calculation of combat payments. According to the investigation, due to his decision, military personnel were paid almost 80 million hryvnias without proper legal grounds, causing losses to the state budget. This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General, writes UNN.
Under the procedural guidance of the Lviv Specialized Defense Prosecutor's Office of the Western Region, a former commander of a territorial defense brigade from the Lviv region has been notified of suspicion
According to the investigation, between April 2023 and January 2024, the official improperly performed his duties when calculating additional monetary remuneration of 100,000 hryvnias for military personnel.
This refers to payments provided by law for military personnel who directly participate in combat operations or perform combat and special tasks under martial law.
At the same time, it was established that the former commander signed orders for the calculation of such remuneration for military personnel who, during the relevant periods, had no legal grounds to receive it.
Having information about the actual involvement of personnel in combat missions and the ability to verify the grounds for payments, the official did not ensure proper control and issued the relevant orders.
Based on them, the financial service of the military unit calculated and paid the funds. As a result, the state budget suffered losses amounting to almost 80 million hryvnias.
The former commander has been notified of suspicion under Part 4 of Article 425 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (negligent attitude of a military official to service, which caused grave consequences under martial law).
